Caldera already occurred

Timepiece stands alone before the frozen cloud in stopped time, the bodies of her own crew like a topological part of the bleached landscape which holds no color, thumb still on the pocket watch.

The crew near death and running for nothing and attacking for naught, all caught in their last moment, to which Caldera from the edge of the cloud would seem to may be saying 'Grrr'.

Hands up and claws forward to scare with twigs in her hair from a tree's last punch.  Esmeralda Timepiece looks around at the hopelessness of it all ...

"! FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK !"  She starts pounding her rage on the stonish visage of Caldera, kicking and punching til exhausted.

She falls to her knees in the expanse of no time.

Timepiece - "fuck."

~ Caldera ~

When the credits are done along with the song, they're still in the ship shaking on its last leg.

Shaw - "It's all we've got left.  Every node and beacon we can read from outside of time for re-entry disappears before I can track it but that one remains."

Timepiece - Peering over the shoulder at his monitor, "The center of the universe.  But that's supposed to be a black hole."

Shaw - "Literally the one to end all black holes."

Timepiece - "Or their exit point."

Shaw - "No one knows.  Or if they do they never returned.  But.  There is a pearl formed of that crushing weight, a diamond beneath the black hole's compress."

Timepiece - "Land."

Shaw - "Land."

...

Timepiece - "Alright.  We keep putting more distance until the jump is all the ship's got left."

Auto - "That means now."

...

Timepiece - "Fuck."

The ship explodes over the cold landscape under a swirling sky of the universe surrounding it, an engine blows, sending another one flying, taking out the rear landing gear of that side.

It skids long as the rest of them crumble, the engines all burning out until crushing the front on a stone.

Auto - " 'Parking'."

The walk out the crooked plank in their space-suits, Shaw at the lead.  A couple of readings taken, he takes his helmet off.

Zelda - "How ... ?"

Shaw - "They say all life mimics this place, that all its recurrent patterns aspire to this 'sacred geometry'."

He picks up some sand and takes a scope to look closer and smiles before letting it sift through his fingers.

Shaw - Turns to them and extends his arms with a smile, wisps of sand swept up into the sky, streaming through the black hole.  "It was in the book !  Welcome.  To the reality forge."

Timepiece now kneels in that sand again before Caldera's motionless edifice.

Esmeralda - Timepiece In her unaltered form, behind her.  "You're making this way too complicated."

Timepiece - "not again"

Esmeralda - "What again ?"

Timepiece - "I don't need you anymore.  None of it matters !  I don't need to be reminded of what I once was.  It doesn't help me.  We can't stop her.  And I don't see how my own delusions can tell me anything I don't already know.  We've lost.

"If none of them could stop this, then neither can we."

...

Esmeralda - "You're making this way too complicated."

Time piece looks down with a sigh ...

Doe - "Not seeing how this helps our situation."

Shaw - "Nothing can !"  He flips through the book, "I can't find a thing."

Doe - "Her name is Caldera."

Shaw - "Think you said a thing about not helpful."

Doe - "Yeah ... it's just nice to know."

Selene - "I hate her."

Carson - "I think ... I think she is beautiful.  What better way to go ... I see ... I see it not."

Selene - "They said an advantage ... before destroying her weapons."

Timepiece - "What does it even matter ?  We'll starve here.  That ship's not going anywhere."

Auto - "True.  And I will soon after power down without it.  There is no charge."

Carson - "And I suppose as inevitably the last to go, I will eat you at last ... "

Zelda - "Swell.  That's if we win."

They all look up to the storm approaching ...

Timepiece - "We're not gonna win."
